The Yearning Effect — Terms of Use

These terms cover everything sold or offered by The Yearning Effect: the free community, the book The Yearning Effect ($17), the Becoming Her membership ($22/month), and the Becoming Her: Direct Line membership ($79/month). By joining, buying, or taking part, you agree to them.

1. What this is

The Yearning Effect provides relationship and dating coaching for educational and informational purposes only. I am not a licensed therapist, counselor, psychologist, or medical professional, and nothing here is therapy, counseling, or professional advice. Coaching is not a substitute for professional mental health care.

2. If you're in crisis

If you are experiencing abuse, a mental health crisis, or thoughts of harming yourself, please contact a licensed professional or call or text 988 (U.S.) right away. In an emergency, call 911. Outside the U.S., contact your local emergency number. Nothing here, including messaging me, is an emergency service.

3. No guarantees

Results vary and depend on you. I share what worked in my own life, and that isn't a promise of any specific result, including any outcome with a specific person.

4. Your choices are yours

You make your own decisions and accept full responsibility for your own choices and outcomes.

5. Age

You must be 18 or older to join or buy.

6. Payments and renewals

Payments are processed through Whop. The $22 and $79 memberships renew automatically every month at the price shown at checkout until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your Whop account, and you keep access to what's already unlocked through the end of your billing period. If a renewal payment fails, access pauses until it's paid.

7. Refunds

To ask for a refund, email ari@yearningeffect.com from the email you used to buy.

The book ($17): Read Chapter 1. If it doesn't feel like I wrote it about your exact situation, tell me within 30 days of buying and I'll refund every cent. No questions, no hoops.

Becoming Her ($22/month): Do Worksheet 1 for real. If you don't have at least one "that's literally me" moment, message me within 30 days of joining and I'll refund the whole month. No questions asked.

Direct Line ($79/month): I reply to every message within 24 hours, starting with your first one. If I ever miss 24 hours, even once, tell me and I'll refund the whole month. No questions, no hoops.

Outside these guarantees, payments aren't refundable, except where the law requires it.

8. Community rules

In the Discord and anywhere else in the community: be respectful and judgment-free, no spam or unsolicited DMs, and keep other people's real details private. I can remove anyone who breaks these rules, without a refund for the time already used.

9. My content is for you only

The book, worksheets, audio, videos and everything else I make are for your personal use. Don't share, copy, resell, or post them anywhere. Don't screenshot or share other members' messages.

10. Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, my total liability to you for anything related to The Yearning Effect is limited to the amount you paid me in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Ending access

You can leave or cancel anytime. I can end your access if you break these terms or send abusive messages.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the U.S. state where The Yearning Effect is based.

13. Privacy

When you join, buy, or sign up through one of my forms, I receive your name and email address, and your Discord username if you join the community. I use them to deliver what you signed up for and to send you emails, which you can unsubscribe from anytime. Payments are handled by Whop, and I never see or store your card details.

Messages you send me are kept private and used only to reply to you, unless someone's safety is at risk or the law requires me to share them.

I don't sell your information or share it with anyone except the services that run this business: Whop for payments and access, Systeme.io for email, and Discord for the community. This is for adults only, and I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

14. Changes

I may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using a membership after an update, the new terms apply from then on.

15. Problems

If something goes wrong, email me first. Most issues can be fixed quickly, and I'd rather make it right with you directly.
